Get Thee Hence Satan

Mt 4:9-10 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

During my morning study, I was reading in Mt 4 where Jesus was lead into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. The Christian too is being lead into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. This tempting is a purification process as well as a faith building time for the Christian in his/her life so that they might become more like Christ. But unlike the lost who will continue in Satan’s follies of worldly pleasure, the Christian is never left in the wilderness for long. Continue reading

Darkness Comes Before The Light

How often is it that we feel low and at jumping off place in our life and feel that all of the life is being sucked out of us for some reason or another. This is how God works, He places His children at the lowest point in their life to awaken them. Then throughout life, He slowly removes all of their earthly desires and needs and replaces the darkness we feel with the illuminating light of His Son. This is what is known as being saved. You see we aren’t saved until we have finished our mission, endured life’s storms, gone through many trials and tribulations and finally finished the course. This can be seen in what Paul said in 2Ti 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing”. . The Husband and the Bride

Many of my friends who take time to read this post will probably think that I was pointing fingers at others and that I must think that I feel I’m a cut above them as a christian. This is far from the truth and the finger that I point was at myself in the mirror. It is a desire of mine to know more about my God and I share my posts that others might learn with me. Sleepless Night Weary With Pain

No sleep for the weary in the Gap this night
But only for a season of pain must I fight
This cross I carry is but small
For the cross you carried was so big and tall

But now I have you by my side
We walk and talk throughout the day
And it brings much joy the words you say

I shall watch and wait day by day
For that promise, it made me believe
For that joy I hear is beyond degree
Can’t wait, can’t wait to be there with thee

Til that time my works undone
And I need you more than I deserve
Forgive me Lord for I’m so weak and weary
Help me please that I may keep you near me

It’s Difficult Being A Christian

Mat 5:48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Another year has come and gone and we are faced with not just a new year, but yet another day of discovering who we really are and what our purpose is in life.  As we get older, time passes so very fast and in reality it is a reflection of just how short life is here on earth.  Since there is so very little time, let’s get started off in the right direction by reviewing our  walk and our relationship with our Heavenly Father  this past year and see if we have grown to be more Christ like this past year. Continue reading
