My Comforter

Where is my Comforter for I need help this morn
I need a path that’s straighter than my own
My compass is broken and I can’t find my way
Oh Comforter oh Comforter will you help me I pray

I know if I wake Him, He’s willing to hear
But to mold me and teach me He leaves right here
He taught me to wait and listen for Him
That I may grow and become His close friend

This body is worn and my spirits are fraid
I’m ready for Him to lead me away
Help me my Comforter till the end of this day
I’m frail and I fear that I won’t find the way

It’s been bumpy and rough on this poor old soul
I think, yes I think I’ve taken a terrible road
I’m feeling uncomfortable and yes so alone
I must wake my Comforter to guide me toward Home

You need not fret or be scared anymore
My door stands opened for you to my throne
To sit right here by me and learn much much more
Follow my Comforter and you will surely endure

I dare not trade this journey for silver or gold
The riches I have can’t be bought or sold
They contain many promises yet to be fulfilled
Oh Comforter drive me onward and keep my heart sealed

He feeds me when I’m hungry if I would only ask
And wraps His arms around me when I feel down and out
He tells when I’m wrong with a tug to my heart
That we can stay together never to be apart.

There is a story that is told in these few words
That the road to the throne is a rough road to endure
But Christ endured it and provided a way
By giving a Comforter to help along the way

John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:26-27 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV)
